In the new version 8.0 of DASYLab, a Getting Started Guide has been extended. It now contains a new chapter called Quickstart. In Step-by-Step guides it shows how to create DASYLab worksheets. It supports new DASYLab users with examples for creating typical worksheets, starting with simple "two-modules" worksheets up to demanding tasks. With each example the known Getting-Started worksheets are available to check instantly whether the created worksheet is correct. You can open these demonstration worksheets in a second DASYLab session and test them in parallel to the user’s own worksheet. There have been major improvements to the working environment to help the user save time and effort in their projects. There is a new overview of global variables and strings. Use this overview to easily and quickly explore the places where variables or strings are used in worksheet. The left side of the window shows a tree with all variables and strings and its use. The right side of the window shows any additional information that may be available for the selected element at the left.Variables or strings that might be written in multiple places are marked in red to highlight possible conflicts. Free Variables/Strings are shown separately, so you can easily find available (unused) ones. User defined function buttons and hotkeys have been added to this version to easily facilitate customization for your project. Use the new Module Default Setup (MDS) to define your default settings for one or more module types. Once you have defined the MDS for a module, each time you create a new module of that type, it will be configured to use the saved settings (Number of channels, calibration settings and more). You can reset the module default to the standard settings at any time. The method for activating and deactivating channels has changed. You can now quickly enable and disable multiple channels for all types of modules. The tool-tips function has been extended. Now, just move the mouse over the modules symbol to get information about modules name and short description shown as Tool-Tip flag. Other improvements include new and updated modules, such as the Polorplot Graph display module, updates to the action module, message module, regression module, and the ICom/IEEE module. Additionally, there have been extensive updates to the list of suppored hardware. |
