The QSCP-200/300 CompactPCI boards are available with 4 independent serial ports, each of which is jumper configurable for RS-422 or RS-485 communication. They provide Plug-and-Play capability as well as providing basic Hot-Swap compliancy. These CompactPCI boards are designed to operate in a high–noise industrial environment, and provide 2500Vrms optical isolation.
The QSCP-200/300 boards require only one PCI slot within the computer rack to provide 4 independent serial channels. All channels are addressed in a continuous 32-byte I/O block for simplified software access. And, all channels can also share one cPCI interrupt. An interrupt status register is available for determining the interrupt source. All CompactPCI registers are properly implemented, and users can be assured that these boards will be good citizens on the CompactPCI bus.
The boards are implemented with16750 UARTs containing 64-byte FIFOs. They have a clock multiplying feature allowing them to achieve data rates as high as 921.6kbps. The high clock speeds and deep FIFOs will greatly reduce CPU overhead, making the boards ideal choices for heavy multi-tasking environments. Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP are supported.
To maintain maximum signal integrity, the CompactPCI boards use a 4-layer board design. External connections for the QSC-200/300 are provided via one D-37 connector. An optional cable can be used to convert the D-37 into 4 standard D-25 male connectors. |
