The USB-9802-EC-I is a high-performance data acquisition module designed for
the Universal Serial Bus. The USB-9000 Series contains all the capabilities
of a multifunction PCI plug-in board in an easy-to-use, compact module. The
"-EC" portion of the model number specifies a mass termination connector
designed to wire directly to signal conditioning backplanes used to condition
certain types of sensors before they may be acquired by the A/D (either the
5B01 or the 5B08 backplanes are supported - see the signal conditioning section
for available 5B modules). The "-I" portion of the model number
specifies 500 V isolation at the connector of the USB module which is optional
since most 5B modules offer 1500 V isolation themselves. The USB-9802-EC-I includes 2 channels of 12-bit analog
outputs. No external power supply is used by the USB module because the single
USB cable provides power to the module as well as passes the digital information
to and from the PC. Note: 5B backplanes do require an external power source
(regulated 5VDC). |
